Ready Or Not, When Seasons Change

You wake up, walk in the house, arrive at work, turn the corner, blink, and everything’s changed. Your home is flooded, gone. The relationship has reached it’s end, it’s over. The job has been cut, gone. Health has been impacted, challenges loom. Trees bloom mango-pumpkin tinged leaves. A new season dawns.

Seasons are both calendared and continually dawning. Hard as we might try to find the levers to maneuver their appearance and temperature, they remain high and hidden, well out of reach. Adjustments then, are needed to weather the new weather. New clothing is purchased, calling is contemplated, recipes are discovered, answers are sought, choices are everywhere.

When facing an unexpected change, the only way forward is with faith. It’s when we’ve known, thought or believed would always be the same, suddenly isn’t, that we are faced with the facts of what we believe. Everything is temporary. We are just travelers. We can’t take things with us.. God is with us. Though challenges arise and we may cry and wonder when things will change for the better, He will never leave us. With God, we will make it to the next season, if we just hold on, stronger, better, more refined, polished, prepared to walk alongside others through their changing seasons.

As we welcome, pray for, or console, those, or even ourselves, who have had their seasons drastically changed, let the source of our words and comfort be solidly rooted in what The Creator of The Heavens and The Earth has spoken.

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’.”  Isaiah 41:10
