Answer The Call

So often we stand in our own way of taking hold of the  life God has called us to live. Why?  Because we are afraid.  We are afraid of succeeding.  Failing.  Being uncomfortable. Meeting new people. More responsibility.

Fear keeps us staring at the what ifs of failure instead of the fruitfulness of obedience. It convinces us that the job is too big for us.   We don’t have the strength, knowledge, experience, finances, or resources to do what God is calling us to do, so why bother?

the call

Anything we can think of to prove why it’s OK to keep doing what we want to do instead of what God wants us to do, becomes an excuse to hold on tight to our creature comforts.  Suddenly our relationship mess ups, poor parenting, or earlier ministry debacles become proof positive that we are not worthy of working for God.

Don’t let fear rob you of your present, your future and being the pleasure to God, He created you to be.

When God calls, it is no small matter, but there is only one way to respond – in obedience.

If you are a called one of God, remember:

“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust;

I shall not be afraid.  What can mere man do to me?” Psalm 56:3,4

God created you for Himself.  Will you answer the call?
