What’s Better Than Pasta?

I just spent a week with executive and co-senior leaders in a week-long leadership boot-camp. We heard infamous quotes, bits of wisdom, suggestions of books to read, strategies to implement, tools for developing talent, and a ton of other information.

Amidst all the discussion I could not help but be reminded of the superiority of God’s Word. Nothing I heard this week – and there was some really, really good stuff, compared to the wisdom of The Holy Spirit. It is what kept me from desiring the unending servings of steak, chicken, pasta, desserts, tea, coffee and almost any other hard to resist food you can think of, over obedience to this time of fasting and praying.

“My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1st Corinthians 2:4-5

Even the most eloquent of speakers use oxygen, lungs, and limbs, created by You, whether acknowledged…or not. Lord, simply stated, there is no one who can attain to Your wisdom.
